Founded in 1950, Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital is a 232-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital that offers comprehensive inpatient nd outpatient rehabilitation services and home health care designed to return patients to leading active and independent lives.
Our hospital provides a wide range of physical rehabilitation services, a vast network of highly skilled, independent private practice physicians and HealthSouth therapists and nurses, and the most innovative equipment and rehabilitation technology, ensuring that all patients have access to the highest quality care. Patients are admitted to diagnose specific units where they have access to comprehensive rehabilitation programs. Each unit is equipped with large therapy gyms, patient and family lounge, dining area, large spacious patient rooms and centrally located nursing stations
Designed with our patient’s care in mind, Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital offers semi-private and private rooms with amenities such as televisions, telephone, radio eye programs for the visually impaired and wireless internet capabilities.
In addition to caring for general rehabilitation diagnoses such as amputations, cardiac conditions, multiple trauma, neurological disorders, orthopedic injuries, burns and traumatic injuries, Cardinal Hill has specialized inpatient programs for stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, pulmonary disorders as well as a specialized skilled rehabilitation unit. Other services offered include aquatic therapy programs, community re-entry programs and recreational therapy services.

Cardinal Hill is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards. CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served.
Rehabilitation is covered in full or part by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. The hospital has contracts with most major insurance companies and is willing to negotiate with other companies as needed.
