Cody Dorman

Cody Dorman

At just 12 years old, Cody Dorman spends most of his time in a wheelchair. Cody was born with Wolf Hirschorn Syndrome, caused by partial deletion of the 4th chromosome, which leads to delays in both growth and development. Cody attends physical, occupational and speech therapy every week at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital.

Thanks to the dedication of Cody, his parents and his therapists, Cody has seen tremendous improvements in his strength. He is now able to sit for short periods of time with minimal assistance, something he was unable to do before his treatment. Cody is also learning how to communicate with a special communication device, Chat Fusion 10. Not only can Cody now clearly share his basic needs, but his sense of humor shines through as well.

"He is able to tell us his wants and needs, and many more things which he has never been able to do before. He also loves telling knock-knock jokes with his device," said Cody's mother Leslie Dorman. "Our family is very grateful that Cardinal Hill has helped us give Cody a voice."
